Synergy Fitness, formerly known as Calgym, was founded in Qld in 1976. Since Calgym’s earliest designs of strength machines, the underlying philosophy has been to manufacture resistance equipment that is intuitive and feels natural to use, moving in harmony with the body.
Indeed, Calgym was the first company in the world to introduce compound converging/diverging arc, unilateral movement technology to pin loaded machines in the early 1990’s. These original, very simple, yet highly effective revolutionary designs still form the basis of our Synergy strength line and are now essentially copied in various forms by leading manufacturers around the world.
Calgym also designed the first centre drive side loaded selectorised machines and pioneered designs like the Seated Leg Curl. Calgym also led the world revolution in cable motion functional training equipment, with the development of its Omni Kinetic Multi Station, Omni Kinetic Ground Base Press and Omni Lat/Row.
Over the years Synergy has always remained true to these core design values and has developed a reputation as a world leader in biomechanical design.
